LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Kentucky Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice and Louisville NOW, a chapter of the National Organization for Women are co-sponsoring a candlelight vigil to commemorate the historic 1973 Roe v. Wade decision by the US Supreme Court. The vigil will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fourth Avenue Methodist Church, 318 St. Catherine Street, Louisville.
Local religious leaders will speak about the impact the denial of reproductive choice has on women and their families, the importance of abortion rights for women’s health, and their church’s position on reproductive rights. There will be musical performances by the Fort Hill String Band, Russell Behanan, and Gil and Kim Schroerlucke.
Please join us in support of women’s reproductive rights. Listen to music, hear a minister, say a prayer, and light a candle. Come add your light to ours.
